The Trace Mineral Indium: Rolling Back Your Genetic Age

The trace mineral Indium is a refreshing discovery that was in someway minimised. In his book “Indium” Dr Robert Lyons wrote, “Let Indium turn back your biological clock. Researchers now believe that Indium may help you look and feel years - even decades - younger.” Indium is typically seen as an anti-ageing food.

I will list the health benefits of taking Indium later, but that’s not the point of this article. The real key is that Indium helps us improve the way in which we ingest VIP trace minerals especially magnesium, copper, manganese, chromium, potassium, iodine, selenium, zinc and others. In that sense Indium is like the doorman at an exclusive nightclub, opening the door to allow important guests to enter!

How Indium truly works is by managing the vital functions carried out by the adrenals, pituitary gland and hypothalamus. These control so many intricate functions of the body, including:

breathing
body temperature
growth hormone release
the sex glands
adrenalin release
mental alertness
food/water intake
perception of pain and fatigue
inflammations

When the adrenals, pituitary gland and hypothalamus function together, the synchronicity creates a sense of health at the same time making a vital contribution to the defence of the immune system against some dynamic incoming enemies!

Reversing the biological clock

When we were young and invincible we could do pretty much anything we wanted to our bodies and live to party another day. As we get older, (usually beginning in our thirties) the production of certain hormones decreases. These are the hormones that have been circulating throughout the body tor help prevent us getting older. The ingestion of Indium prolongs this ‘youthful ‘ period of our lives. Many people have told us of a surge of youthful benefits from increased energy to improved senses of taste and smell, better weight reduction, more satisfying sleep, improvements in skin tone and colour, increased libido in males and females and better moods.

Dr Henry Schroeder, author of “The Trace Elements and Man”, found in his early research that Indium supplementation increased the utilisation of trace elements by a significant 142%.

The Health Advantages of Indium (here’s that list I promised) :

better immunity against colds
discernably faster recovery rates after bruising and heavy bruising
relief from metastatic inflammation
improved memory
healthier blood sugar levels (with some diabetic patients reducing their insulin by 80 %)
help with migraines
supports thyroid function
normalisation of any hypertension
memory improvements in the over Sixties
reduced build-up of tartar and plaque on teeth
increased stamina
reduced symptoms of menopause
improved hair growth
improved weight stability
up to 75% drop in prostate PSA levels

Where can we get Indium?

We have always preferred to take minerals and trace elements in their natural state and in conjunction with other minerals/trace elements. For us the most effective way is by using the highly-prized Celtic Sea Salts: from Brittany and we’ve been doing so daily since 1997.

With the contents of the air we breathe, the water we swallow and the food we eat being so compromised these days, we prefer to take any real food that comes our way.

From a family of Clydeside Scots, Graeme was born and brought up in Hong Kong. He lived for 35 years there, as well as in Borneo and Indonesia. Intrigued by the way in which the different Asian cultures approach their health and wellbeing, he studied aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine and became familiar with many other ancient healing techniques, from the traditional Jamu herbal medicine healers of Java to the body balancing mechanisms of Jin Shin Jyutsu, from Japan. Together with his wife Phylipa, Graeme runs Resources For Life, a natural health business in Chichester, West Sussex. Much of what is available on their web site has origins steeped in traditional knowledge.
