As you grow old the body parts are also becoming old and are less active. This is going to affect every internal organ in the body. Malfunctioning of body parts starts occurring frequently and might require medication at regular intervals.

First and foremost a disease that is more common in the elder people is the diabetes or sugar complaints. The level of sugar in the blood and urine start increasing than the doctor prescribed level. This will in turn lead to various other diseases like numbness, pain in the legs and knees. The more advanced may even lead to partial or complete blindness. The level of sugar increases because the pancreas fails to produce enough insulin which would actually manage the sugar content. As a result the use of fats and sugars to convert them to energy also decreases leading to accumulation of sugar in the blood and in the body fluids. Diabetes in turn leads to decrease in the ability to handle stress and pressure. Diabetes affected people are prone to many diseases even including heart related diseases. Diabetes is a hereditary disease so you are more prone to diabetes if your parents have diabetes. If you know that you have diabetes then it is good to take proper food which contains no or less amount of sugar content. It is good to avoid sweets and oily stuff. The amount of calories taken in should also be controlled. The junk food should be completely avoided. It is good to go for walks and do some kind of physical exercises to use up the calories taken in.
