Effects of aging on hearingHearing loss is also a natural part of aging loss. Hearing loss occurs because the ear drum starts become stiff and strong and the flexibility of it is lost. The hearing mechanism only depends on the vibration of the ear drum when this is reduced then automatically the sound that we can hear also reduces.
The bones in the middle ear also are affected. The degeneration of the ear bone joints starts occurring and also calcium start accumulating on these bones leading to stiffening of the bones resulting in reduction in the transmission of sound waves. The hair cells present in the ear are also damaged because of aging and also might be because of noise pollution or other ear infections that occurred in the course of our life. If these irreplaceable hair cells are damaged then auditory nerve becomes less efficient. These losses and changes start occurring only when a person reaches at least forty or fifty years of age. If hearing loss appears to come to you at an earlier age, then it should probably because of ear wax. If too much of ear wax is accumulated in the ears then vibration of ear drum is limited and tends to malfunction leading to hear loss. Head injury can also lead to hearing loss or even rise in blood pressure. Some things to be avoided to overcome hear loss is avoiding noise pollution in your surrounding areas. If you are exposed to noise for few days then you are more prone to hear loss even if you are young. It is good to use ear bud and cover your ear hole so that at least to a certain extent you can reduce the volume entering your ears.
